Happy new year to all! Guess what? It's snowy and cold outside, hockey season is in full swing, our field is covered by snow but our thoughts here are turning to softball. This year's executive has already began planning for the upcoming season, so much so, that electronic registration will be ready in the next 2 weeks. That's right, you can register for the 2010 season starting mid-January! Here are some of the important dates to keep in mind up to and including the start of the season: Registration (electronically) runs from mid-January until March 13th, 3pm.* Registartion forms will be emailed out to all players by the first week of February, must be completed and received at KMSPL box office no later than March 12th, midnight.* Registration day at Holleffeur Chalet will take place on March 13th from 11am - 3pm.* * Please note that any registrations received outside of these deadlines, will not be processed and deemed undelivered unless there are spots still open after the registration closes on March 13th at 3pm. Coach's Meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 7th at Holleffeur. Draft Day and rookie evaluation will take place at Holleffeur, on Saturday, April 24th. And the season will open on Sunday, May 9th! We will be getting back to you soon with all other related softball items as they get firmed up. In the meantime, I would like to leave you with some New year's quotes that I hope you find as amusing as I do: New Year's is a harmless annual institution, of no particular use to anybody save as a scapegoat for promiscuous drunks, and friendly calls and humbug resolutions. - Mark Twain Youth is when you are allowed to stay up late on New Year's Eve. Middle age is when you're forced to. - Bill Vaughan The proper behaviour all through the holiday season is to be drunk. This drunkenness culminates on New Year's Eve, when you get so drunk you kiss the person you're married to. - PJ O'Rourke New Year's Resolution: To tolerate fools more gladly, provided this does not encourage them to take up more of my time. - James Agate An optimist stays up until midnight to see the New Year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves. - Bill Vaughan New Year's Day...now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual. - Mark Twain May your troubles last as long as your New Year's resolutions. - Joey Adams Stay warm and until next time!!
